Gift Guide To Ladies – Buying Makeup (The DOs and DON’Ts) – Blogmas [Day 02] ❄️

Ho, Ho, Ho, everyone! 😀

So, today’s post is going to be about… Gifts for anyone who’s obsessed with beauty/makeup! Yay!

Now, no matter who you are, you have a female in your life. (a friend, mother, girlfriend, sister, etc) And chances are, at least one of the females you know is obsessed with makeup.

Before you run to Sephora and pick a random item that’s on sale and say ‘DONE’, hold up! Grab some popcorn and take a seat, because I’m about to tell you the DOs and DON’Ts of makeup purchasing.

DO buy her a product she’s been aching to try out. It would be great if you sneakily found out if there’s something she’s been dying to try. Did Benefit make a new mascara? Did Too Faced release a new palette? It might mean nothing to you, but trust me, there’s nothing better than opening your gift and seeing that beautiful item you were looking to try in ages, but you weren’t sure if you wanted to get it. 😊

DO get her a product she used up, maybe even repurchased. If you notice ‘the obsessor’ talking about/always using/repurchasing a certain product, chances are you can’t go wrong with this. Now, if there are any fellas here, I’m talking to you –

DON’T forget to CHECK THE SHADE. It’s usually somewhere on the packaging:

• with lipsticks and nailpolish, it’s usually at the bottom
• with foundations, it’s usually somewhere on the side (or the bottom)
• with most eyeshadows, blushers, bronzers, highlighters, powders and contouring kits, it’s also usually on the back

The last thing you want is to get her the wrong shade. It’s about to get real if you mess up the shade of the foundation, which leads me onto my next point…

DON’T get her foundations. Unless it’s a repurchase, it might be better to stay away from the foundation section. There is way too much and you’re probably going to get lost, be confused or just overwhelmed by so many choices!
