October Favourites | Beauty, Music, Random Stuff…

October’s over…. Can you believe it? I feel like I just did my September favourites last week! I guess, especially with high stress levels, time flies… But how is there only two months until 2016?!? Wow…

Anyways, October! I haven’t been experimenting with new products as much (or, as a matter-of-fact, at all) since I didn’t have a lot of time, so I’m sorry if this is not as interesting as usual!

Makeup

1) NYX Butter Gloss – Apple Strudel

I’ve really gone back to basics this month (as I just kept having not enough time in the morning) and instead of my red, chose this nude colour. It’s incredibly easy to apply and the formula is so rich, moisturizing and creamy, but (BUT!) it does take a long time to dry and is quite sticky, so windy days have been kinda tough. However, what I began doing is just blotting until it’s dry. The shade is a pinkish-nude, so the ‘colour’ won’t be any less intense.

2) Aura Lip Pencil – Shade 31

I’ve talked about this baby before, but I’ve really been using it a lot this month. It’s a brown toned nude (yes, that’s a thing now) and just works really well with that particular shade of the butter gloss. It looks like I actually put a decent amount of time and effort into my makeup, when actually… I didn’t!

3) LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I’ve raved about this in a recent post (here) so it’s only natural I put it in my favourites. I use this quite a lot when I wear lipsticks, so I find it ironic that the month of ‘very little/no bold colours/lipsticks’ is also the month I put this in my favourites. Oh, the irony!

However, the product is amazing and smells and tastes incredible! (more detailed description in my most recent post, here)

4) The Body Shop Shea Butter Lip Balm

I feel like every time I mention the previous product, I can’t go without mentioning this one. I just look at this as a way of ‘polishing’. So, the scrub is chiseling and this is polishing. What can I say? Super moisturizing and also a really nice, sweet scent. 🙂

5) Pentatonix Album

For those of you who don’t know, Pentatonix is an a capella group that covers popular songs. Sounds dull? (well, not to me, as I am a huge choir nerd) Take a listen and you’ll instantly see the appeal. Click here to check out their YouTube channel. (PTXofficial)

I’ve been obsessed with Pentatonix for a while now and when I first heard ‘Can’t Sleep Love’ (the first original off the album), I immediately fell in love with the harmonies in the chorus. Next up was ‘Sing’ and that is just the song for blue days – an instant pick-me-up! (super up-beat, major scale) I was hooked right away and had to download the entire album. And it’s the only thing I’ve been listening to since it came out!

( Another really up-beat track that just makes me really happy is their version of ‘Cheerleader’. I really didn’t like that song, but they just arranged it so well and the last time they sing the chorus,the scale changes, it sounds even brighter. 🙂 )

My current favourite track is either Cracked or Ref. (but it changes every day…)

Random

6) Milford 6 Fruits Tea 

With great stress comes great tea-drinking. My go-to tea this month has been the Milford ‘6 Fruits’ Tea. I love fruity teas, with some honey or even a bit of lemon (even though there’s already lemon inside… Leave me alone, haha!)
