My Travel Essentials (What’s In My Travel Bag?)

Hey everybody! 😀

So, since I am on holiday I thought it would only be fitting to do a ‘holiday essentials’ post.

These are just some things I have to take with me on travels, however, I won’t include clothing items, accessories or obvious items (passport, wallet, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.) 🙂 Let’s begin!

#1 A Fully Charged Phone and Headphones

This is such a must for me (and probably most of the 21st century world). I’d charge my phone the night before and even if it’s at 100% battery, I’d still leave it until the last minute to charge, as it would make a difference. 😀 This might be just me, though. Also, headphones. I don’t go anywhere without headphones.

#2 Entertainment

Okay, this might seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many times I forgot to bring ‘entertainment’ on a long trip. Some things I’d bring are:

– magazines

– Sudoku or any puzzle like that (it’s surprisingly entertaining)

– a pack of cards (or Uno, whatever you prefer)

– a book

– playing games on your phone (be careful about your battery, though)

– listening to music

#3 Fully Charged Portable Charger

Another thing I bring, especially on those long travels, where you aren’t sure how long it’ll take you to get to your destination and if your battery will survive. I recommend those ones that can have multiple outlets, so you’re able to charge your laptop as well. (if you take it)

#4 Note Pad and Pen

This is another vital thing for me. I’ll bring this little sucker with me everywhere. It’s just good to have it with you, if you need to jot some ideas down or just write how much money you’re spending. ( believe it or not, I’m not ‘weird’ for doing this! And I’m certainly not the only one! Karen also swears by note pads – she says it’s a must-have for bloggers and I agree! She mentioned the vitality of it in a post she did ‘Tips For Starting A Beauty Blog’, so click here to check it out. 🙂 )

Okay, I admit, mine doesn’t really say ‘professional business woman’ or ‘beauty/fashion blogger’…. It says ‘princess’… And it’s pink and fluffy. And you might know that I don’t like pink…

It was actually gifted to me about 12 years ago (wooow) by a friend. I wanted to make it my ‘diary’ back then, but my family said to leave it and use it ‘when I’m a bit older’… It’s finally being used! 😀

#5 Makeup

I have to bring at least a part of my collection out with me. I mean, my Naked Basics wants to see the world, too!

No, but seriously, I do bring as little makeup as I possibly can. This year, I’m bringing:

Travel Essentials - Makeup - As Little Makeup As Possible

Travel Essentials - Makeup - As Little Makeup As Possible - Eyeliners

– Naked Basics palette

– Bourjois Smokey Eye Trio (02 baroque)

– NYX Above And Beyond Full Coverage Concealer (02 Clair)

– Rimmel 25h Long Lasting Powder Foundation

– Essence Blush Up! Blush (20 – Pinky Passion)

– Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

– Essence Get Big Lashes Waterproof Mascara

– Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner

– Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner

– Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick 38

– Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick 111 (Kiss Of Life)

– Clinique Chubby Stick Tinted Lip Balm (04 Mega Melon)

– Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm

I’ll also bring a few face masks since I am going with a friend, so we can have little ‘pamper sessions’ together, do each others’ nails and hair and makeup and use facemasks. :3

Oh, and a makeup remover (Alverde) and some cotton pads.

#6 Gum

Especially with planes. It helps the ears pop. 😀 But, generally, I love having gum in my bag. Feels lovely. Also, I recommend tubs instead of little packets. Those just always end up in the bottom of my bag. When it’s in a tub, you don’t have to worry about that.

#7 Instant Cameras

I had a massive nostalgia/throwback moment a few months ago and decided that it’s such a good idea to get some disposable cameras. They are so much better than digital ones! Polaroids would be ideal, but film is really expensive… Anyways, I’m bringing two this year: one is waterproof and the other isn’t. It’s just so fun when you don’t know what the photos look like and you have to go and develop them and you have a physical photo. It’s just so cool!

And that’s it! Those are most of my travel essentials. Obviously, I’ll be bringing more stuff, but these are just the vitals. I store everything, except for makeup, in my carry-on. Moste makeup goes in the suitcase.

But yeah, there you go! 😀

I hope you enjoyed this post and that you liked having a little look into my travel bag.

What are your travel essentials? 😀

Leave me a cheeky little comment and I’ll get back to you ASAP! 🙂

Thank you so much for reading!

See you soon! 🙂

Bye!

  2. Cute little round about! My favorite from your list are the instant cameras. I think you pretty much nailed it but one thing I absolutely cannot travel without is a little blanket. I often dress up while travelling and find that I get a little chilly on the air.

Yeah, I adore the disposable cameras, too.
I know! I wrote this post before I actually finished packing so I did add a blanket to my little travel bag. 🙂
I completely agree, when I’m travelling by plane a blanket is a must. It gets super cold and most of the time I’m travelling to a ‘tropical’ place, so I can’t be bothered with sweaters etc.
I do sometimes forget it, though, but then I just ask the stuardess’ for one. 🙂

Thank you so much for the lovely comment! 🙂

Yeah, I tried to keep the makeup to a minimum, since I am really clumsy and something was eventually going to break.
