How are you? I hope you’re having a wonderful day. 😀
Today, I’d like to do a makeup tutorial! *whoop* *whoop*
I haven’t done one of these in a very long time, but I have been experimenting with different makeup looks recently and I’d like to share that with you. 😀
The look I’ll be showing you is this olive green smokey eye. I feel as though this look is really suitable for a night out, with a bolder lip colour, as well as an everyday look, with a bit more of a neutral lip color. Also, it works incredible on brown eyes.
-primer (optional) – I still don’t have a primer, so I use my NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer
– a gold shadow, a lighter gray/brown/olive shade, a dark olive green shadow (all of these have a gold shimmer) – Bourjois Smokey Eyes Eyeshadow Trio
– a dark brown (matte) shade – Coffee Bean from the Too Faced Matte Eye Palette
– black eyeliner
The first step is, obviously, applying your primer (or if you’re like me, concealer) all over the lid and under the brow. ( Basically anywhere where you’d apply eyeshadow later 😉 )
Next, apply the gold shade you have on the lid.
After that, add the lighter olive green/gray/brown shade in the crease and the outer ‘corner’ of your lid, blending it in with the gold, towards the inside of your lid. These shades create such a beautiful ombre effect, they are very blendable and the transition looks incredible.
The next step is adding the olive green in the outer corner of your eye and bled it (using the medium shade) towards the inner half of your lid. Optional: after blending all of that out, I like to re-apply the gold to the inner part of the lid, just to make that pop of color even more intense. Blend that out, as well.
Using an angled brush, apply the dark brown shade to the outer half of your upper lash line and just blend it with the olive green. This ties the whole look ‘ombre’ together. 🙂
The last step, also optional is adding eyeliner and mascara. I just defined my upper lash line by using a thin line of liquid (Maybelline Master Prectse) and gel (Too Faced Perfect Eyes) liner. I also applied a thin coat of mascara(s) – Maybelline One By One and Essence Get Big! Lashes.
And that’s the finished look! I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial. I really like how this looks on brown eyes. It really brightens them up and just looks really fancy. The colors are super pretty for a night out, with a bolder lip, or even for the day, maybe with a lighter lip color.
What is your current go to (eye) makeup look?
