My Pamper Session Routine

Hello everyone 🙂
Do you ever get those days when you have a huge pile of work to do, but you just don’t feel like doing anything? I bet you do! (or am I the only one?) Yup, that’s when you can tell it’s time for a pamper session.

Personally, I don’t have as much time as I’d like to just relax fully and treat myself, but I try to have these ‘pamper sessions’ every month or so. And now, without further ado, here’s my pamper routine:

The first thing I do is take my makeup off, if I’m wearing any. I use the Alverde makeup remover and I love it: it does its job AND it smells good! Also, if I’m wearing eye makeup, I use a special eye makeup remover, also by Alverde.

Next, I have a bath, but I always change up which products I’m using. (a.k.a. what kind of bath I’m taking) So, I either:
a) use a bath bomb – I adore bath bombs: they are just so fun and exciting to me, you know, especially the ones from LUSH… I remember that, when we had a LUSH here where I live, my favorite bomb was the Sex Bomb. I don’t remember it all that well now, giving that it’s been over 3 years (so, who knows, I might even hate it now), but I do remember loving it back then and repurchasing it over and over. Come to think of it, I don’t even use bath bombs often these days… There are some Sephora and DM ones that I liked, but honestly, it doesn’t come even close.
b) have a bubble bath – this is also quite fun, but in a different way. (obviously) I haven’t taken a bubble bath in a long, long time, but I’ve recently gotten the L’Occitane Lavender Bubble Bath and it looks (and smells) amazing. At least I have the materials for my next bubble bath.

c) use sea salt mixed with extract – now, this is my ultimate go-to bath: I love this for shorter pamper sessions because you’re not wasting product. (if you were to put in a bath bomb and get out after 5 – 10 minutes, it would be considered ‘wasted’ in my head haha)  You can literally add as much salt and extract as you’d like. I love mixing my sea salt with ‘lavender bath oil’ or bergamot etheric oil. I’ve found out this might not be my favorite (nothing beats a good LUSH bath bomb!), but I do it the most.

Before getting in the bath, I always light a few scented candles. I actually have 2 from Primark that I’m loving right now: Dusty Rose and Spa Water. I honestly don’t know which one I like better. Both smell wonderful. Dusty Rose is a bit stronger, though. (I’d sometimes even turn the lights off in my bathroom with candles as my only light source, to relax completely.) I also play some relaxing music: either the sound of the sea/a lake or I’d just play the music I’m listening to at that time. (I’m in that period of my life where ‘Still Into You’ by Paramore is my jam… I’ve had so many shower concerts with this song on repeat, you don’t even know)

Then I get into the tub and to be honest, I just lay in there, thinking about all the work that I should be  doing… but quickly, a song that I love comes on and I forget everything that I was worrying about because music heals everything. I’d burst into an interpretive dance right in the middle of the tub haha. After that, I’d also read a book sometimes, trying really hard not to get it wet/drop it or be on my phone/watch some YouTube. (the electronics sit outside of the bath, of course, I don’t just dip them in, don’t worry) By the time I’ve watched a few videos, I decide it’s the perfect time to put on a mask and that’s when I actually feel like I’m relaxing. The one mask that I have in my house right now is the Montagne jennesse Chocolate Masque for normal, dry and T-Zone skin. It says it’s an anti stress mask which also offers deep pore cleansing. Here are the claims: I have yet to use this product, but it seems great! (It’s also one of the things that I got when I was abroad because *shocker* they don’t sell them here)

I’d then go back to reading/watching videos and before I know it, the mask is almost ready to be taken off. That’s when I wash my hair. I am using this new shampoo my mom got me. She’s a bit obsessed with ‘natural’… everything. I have no idea where she found it, but it’s the Oblepikha Siberica *professional* Intensive Hydration Oblepikha Shampoo. I’m still not sure if I like it, to be honest: it has a really strong scent, which I’m not a huge fan of and it leaves my hair feeling… weird. (not the best explanation, I know;  it feels like straw, but hydrated – because it is for normal to dry hair -…do you maybe understand? It doesn’t matter, it’s odd and I’m still figuring it out) I have gotten compliments on it, though, so that’s a good sign. Until I got this shampoo, I used the ‘Le Petit Marseillais’ with Shea Milk and Honey for dry and damaged hair and I loved it. It left my hair feeling amazing! I also use my Body Shop Rainforest Conditioner for Normal To Dry Hair and that’s just incredible. Seriously. It also smells great. The only downside is that it’s so hard to get out of the bottle.

When my hair is done, I take the mask off and I use the ‘3 in 1’ technique where I take the mask off, wash my face and cleanse at the same time.. I use the Body Shop Skin Clearing Tee Tree Facial Wash and LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Face & Body Cleanser. A great ‘hack’ is to use this in the shower so, if you’re like me and usually end up scooping out way more product then you’re going to use, you can just use the leftovers on your body. 😀 (#lifehacks)

Now, skipping to the part when I’ve got my hair in a towel and am dry.

This is when I’d apply my body butter(s). When I’m having a pamper session, I’d use the Fiji Water Lotus from The Body Shop. I have less of it and it smells really REALLY freaking amazing so I use it for ‘special days’. Hahaha 😀 I also put some Argan Oil Repairing Shine Hair Oil from HASK to my hair before drying it.

And that’s pretty much it. Everything after that is usually not so interesting.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if I should do more of these ‘routine’ types of posts in the future. 🙂

Leave me a comment below telling me some of the things YOU do when having a pamper session. I’d love to read them and get some new ideas or maybe we can relate. 😉

Also, I’d like to say that I personally love reading these posts. The lovely Rachel (from Rachel Ellis Fashion & Beauty) recently did this too and I really enjoyed it, so I thought you might too. 🙂 You can check her post out here. ( What’s funny is that, when she published hers, I was working on mine. Telepathy, I tell ya! 😀 )

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you soon. 😀

Bye,

~ Dora

Very nice post! I take bath rarely.. I don’t like it too much. May be if I had super comfortable huge bath I would:) When I want something more I use body scrub and put a lot of body butter or oil on my skin and take big bath robe and sit in it drinking tea:).

Yeah, I understand what you’re saying completely: it sometimes gets really uncomfortable…
